Kinexys by J.P. Morgan has made JPM Coin, the bank’s USD-denominated deposit token, available on Ethereum for its institutional clients.
Ethereum is the token’s second public blockchain, following its November 2025 launch on Base, a Layer 2 network built on top of Ethereum.
With this expansion, clients can transfer the token on both networks and hold onchain cash alongside the assets, collateral and counterparties they already transact with.
According to J.P. Morgan, large institutions active in crypto and real-world asset (RWA) transactions are increasingly seeking onchain cash from reputable financial institutions that works with their existing deposit-based products.
The bank cited Ethereum’s depth of onchain liquidity and tokenised assets as the reason for the expansion.
Earlier this year, J.P. Morgan Asset Management also launched tokenised money market funds on the network.

“It’s a clear signal that institutional finance is moving onto public, verifiable infrastructure”
said Matthew Dawson, Co-Founder at Ethereum Institutional.

“Tokenised financial infrastructure is no longer theoretical. It’s already restructuring liquidity, settlement, and digital asset workflows”
said Emma Landriault, Global Head of Kinexys Labs at Kinexys by J.P. Morgan.
Within the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem, a group of blockchains compatible with Ethereum’s software that includes Base and Ethereum, the token supports peer-to-peer transfers between institutional clients.
J.P. Morgan said this reduces friction in onchain digital asset transactions. Clients may also be able to run programmable treasury functions from their own wallet interfaces, supporting faster and more automated financial decisions.
Since its inception, the wider Kinexys platform has processed more than US$4 trillion in cumulative transactions, with an average daily volume of US$7 billion.
