Revolut has completed the registration of its Austrian banking branch and plans to launch it in 2027. The company is now building out the local operation.
Once the branch is live, customers in Austria will receive a local IBAN.
With it, they will be able to receive salaries and manage direct debits and standing orders through a domestic account. Savings accounts will also include automatic tax deduction.
More than 500,000 people in Austria already use Revolut. It reached this figure without introducing any product designed specifically for the Austrian market.

“The IBAN is the part that really matters for our customers. We want to become our customers’ primary banking provider in Austria,”
said Wiktor Stopa, Head of Growth for Western and Eastern Europe at Revolut.
