Bitpanda, a Vienna-based cryptocurrency broker and European fintech unicorn, has announced a new partnership with FC Basel 1893, one of Switzerland’s most successful football clubs.
Beginning with the 2025/26 season, Bitpanda will become the main sponsor of the club, marking the first time the company’s logo will appear on the front of a professional football team’s match kit.
The agreement, which is multi-year in nature, will also see the Bitpanda brand featured prominently at St. Jakob-Park, FC Basel’s home ground.
The move reflects Bitpanda’s broader strategy to establish a stronger presence in the Swiss market and expand into the world of sport.
Eric Demuth, CEO and Co-Founder of Bitpanda, commented on the partnership:

FC Basel President David Degen also welcomed the agreement, saying:

Beyond sponsorship and branding, the partnership will include the joint development of digital initiatives aimed at fan engagement, with both parties planning to create interactive content and explore links between football culture and the evolving world of digital investment.
