Business Punk, a business and lifestyle magazine, has released its ranking of the top ten finance and insurance innovators in Germany, among which founders and CEOs of Finleap, Getsafe and Wefox, among others.
The list is part of Business Punk’s Watchlist 2020, a ranking of 100 business people across media and communication, retail and sales, and finance and insurance, to follow closely this year.
According to Business Punk, the top ten innovators transforming the finance and insurance landscape in Germany are:
Tim Schlawinsky, Founder and Managing Director, Insurninja
Tim Schlawinsky is the founder and managing director of Insurninja, the world’s first gamer-centric insurteh startup for the esports economy. Headquartered in Germany, Insurninja provides tailor-made services for gamers, esport organizations, and businesses.
Prior to Insurninja, Schlawinsky held senior roles in sales and marketing for companies including Protection One, and Nexible.
André Rabenstein, Founder and CEO, Rentablo
André Rabenstein is the founder and CEO of Rentablo, a finance manager for private investors. Rentablo aggregates all customers’ accounts, insurance and other assets to provide them with a 360° overview of their entire finances. Rentablo also offers do-it-yourself free wealth management tools, commission free products and professional fee-based consulting.
Rabenstein is a banking veteran, having worked for Comdirect Bank and Deutsche Bank, among others, prior to launching Rentablo.
Tom Arends, Co-Founder and CEO, Peaks
Tom Arends is the co-founder and CEO of Peaks, a Netherland startup known for its “round ups” feature that allows users to automatically round up their card payments to the next euro and invest the change in a portfolio of sustainable ETFs. Within two years after the launch Peaks has become the most popular and highest rated investment app in the Netherlands. Since October 2019, the app is also live in Germany.
Before Peaks, Tom was lead business change manager of Rabobank’s retail savings and investment business and worked in several positions at Robeco, the largest Dutch asset manager.
Ramin Niroumand, Founder and CEO, Finleap
Ramin Niroumand is the founder and CEO of Finleap, a fintech company builder headquartered in Berlin. In four years, Finleap has successfully developed 18 fintech companies, and added others by acquisition to its ecosystem.
At Finleap, Niroumand is among others responsible for strategy, communications and group development. Previously, he was the innovation manager of DKB Deutsche Kreditbank AG, where he led the bank’s electronic and mobile payment innovation projects alongside PayPal, Sofortüberweisung and Cringle.
Paul Hülsmann, Founder and CEO, Finexity
Paul Hülsmann is the founder and CEO of Finexity, Germany’s first blockchain-based residential real estate investment platform for retail investors. Utilising blockchain, Finexity tokenizes selected properties, reducing thus issuing costs to a minimum and enabling retail investors an owner-like participation with regards to the net rental income, property value growth as well as mortgage repayments.
Hülsmann is also the regional chair of the Fibree foundation, previously co-headed an international incubator, and is an accredited financial advisor.
Til Klein, Founder and CEO, Vantik
Til Klein is the founder and CEO of Berlin-based insurtech startup Vantik, Europe’s first mobile pension plan. Vantik is entirely flexible and can be completed and managed completely on a smartphone. The startup is financed by, amongst others, Atlantic Labs, StS Ventures and Seedcamp, as well as notable Angel investors such as the co-founder of N26 Maximilian Tayenthal.
Before becoming an entrepreneur, Klein was a partner and managing director at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Berlin. He also worked for UBS AG in global wealth management and business banking in Zurich.
Alexander Lattmann, CEO, Blueplanet Investments
Alexander Lattmann is the CEO of Blueplanet Investments, a future-oriented company builder and an active investor in sustainable, environmental future technologies and solutions.
Lattmann is a lawyer, investor and entrepreneur. In 2006, he founded his first company. He started his professional career as a lawyer at an internationally operating law- and management consulting company. As a managing director at an investment banking house in Frankfurt/Main, he was responsible for the corporate finance team, before establishing a consulting company in the year 2012.
Christian Wiens, Co-Founder and CEO, Getsafe
Christian Wiens is the co-founder and CEO of Getsafe, a digital insurance provider. The company uses cutting-edge technology including data and artificial intelligence to create a simple, social and engaging insurance experience. Getsafe launched in the UK in January 2020.
Wiens was previously the founder of Gourmeo.com, which was sold to Müller Media Group in 2013.
Nina Gscheider, Founder, Segurio
Nina Gscheider is the co-founder of Segurio, a platform for insurance brokerage providing insurance policies for special items, favorite items and collections. On Segurio, insurance policies can be concluded, managed and terminated online by the user. The company is originally from Austria but has since begun serving other European countries including Germany, Estonia, and France.
Prior to Segurio, Gscheider was a fine art professional and worked for companies like Tectus Insurance Brokers. She was also the head of production and fundraising at Kunstverein München e.V. in Munich.
Julian Teicke, Founder and CEO, Wefox Group
Julian Teicke is the founder and CEO of Wefox Group, a Berlin-based insurtech startup and the parent company of insurance platform Wefox and One Insurance, the first 100% digital European insurance company.
Teicke is a serial entrepreneur having launched and co-founded companies such as DeinDeal, an e-commerce website, EMPAUA, a consultancy partner of Salesforce.com, and Doctorly, a digital-first, cloud powered, fully centralized, practice management platform for doctors.
