Yuno, a payment orchestration platform, has appointed Miguel Duarte Fernandes as SVP, Head of Growth and Commercial for Europe.
Europe’s e-commerce revenue is projected to reach $721.30 billion by 2025, with annual growth exceeding 7%, creating increased demand for payment orchestration solutions.
Miguel brings over 20 years of experience in the payments industry, having held senior roles at Checkout.com, PayPal, Braintree, and SIBS.
He has worked extensively with merchants across Europe’s leading online payment sectors, including travel, retail, fashion, marketplaces, and digital services, to enhance payment strategies and drive growth.
Yuno addresses a major challenge faced by merchants which is the reliance on a single acquirer or gateway that may not suit all markets.
Through a single integration, the platform provides access to multiple providers and over 300 payment methods, including locally relevant options, ensuring efficient and reliable transactions.
Miguel commented:

“Yuno is solving one of the most pressing challenges in the payments ecosystem: empowering merchants with seamless access to the best acquirers, gateways, and alternative payment methods globally through a single integration. By eliminating the constraints of traditional manual payment setups, Yuno enables businesses to scale effortlessly and unlock their full potential.”
Based in Lisbon, Miguel will oversee Yuno’s European operations and contribute to its global expansion, alongside leadership teams in Asia and the US.
The company is backed by investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Tiger Global, DST Global Partners, Kaszek Ventures, and Monashees.
