JCB, Japan’s international payment brand, has announced a strategic partnership with PayXpert, a payment services provider operating across Europe and the UK, aimed at increasing the acceptance of JCB cards in these markets.
The agreement is expected to improve the payment experience for both regional merchants and international JCB cardmembers.
With a global base of 169 million cardmembers, JCB aims to make card usage more accessible at a broader range of businesses in Europe and the UK.
PayXpert’s merchant network spans sectors such as retail, hospitality, tourism, and transport.
Through this partnership, these merchants will be able to accept JCB cards, allowing them to better serve international customers, particularly those from Asia who frequently travel and shop in the region.
By joining JCB’s global merchant network of 56 million, PayXpert will support the expansion of JCB card usage across new locations.
The partnership will also facilitate cross-border payments, aiming to improve convenience for both merchants and cardmembers.
According to the companies, JCB card acceptance at point-of-sale terminals will be available at no additional setup cost to merchants.
Ray Shinzawa, Managing Director of JCB International (Europe) Ltd., said:

“This partnership aligns with our goals of providing JCB Cardmembers with a fast and secure payment experience, whenever they need it. By leveraging PayXpert’s extensive network and expertise, we will further increase our JCB Card acceptance, providing unparalleled convenience for our cardmembers travelling throughout Europe.”
Nicolas Riegert, Co-founder and CEO of PayXpert, added:

“Inclusivity is at the core of PayXpert’s DNA, and by accepting international payment methods like JCB, we enable more global shoppers to enjoy a payment experience tailored to their preferences and habits. By welcoming JCB Cardmembers, our merchants can attract new customers, increase sales, and enhance their overall customer experience.”
