NEC Corporation, a global technology company announced that it will relocate its Digital Government and Digital Finance (DGDF) Headquarters from Tokyo to Zürich, Switzerland, in August this year.
Tomoki Kubo, Corporate Executive Vice President and President of NEC’s DGDF Business Unit, will be appointed Chief Executive Officer of the relocated DGDF Headquarters.
The move is part of NEC’s strategy to accelerate the global growth of its DGDF business and strengthen its international operations by enabling swifter decision-making and fostering closer communication with its European subsidiaries and customers.
In particular, NEC aims to work more closely with Avaloq, its Swiss-based Digital Finance subsidiary, which is at the forefront of driving the DGDF business forward.
NEC acquired Avaloq in 2020.
Following the relocation, the DGDF Headquarters will continue to enhance its management processes across Europe and other global markets.
