FRIDAY, a Berlin-based insurtech which is a Baloise subsidiary, has strengthened its management team by hiring Nate Glissmeyer as its Chief Platform Officer and Robin Latz to head the management of its German office.

The two new hires are expected to generate further growth and improve profitability of the digital insurance platform.

Nate Glissmeyer previously performed a variety of managerial roles at Amazon Inc. in Seattle from 2004 and successfully managed technology and product teams within the e-commerce giant’s organisation. As Director of Product Management, he oversaw the market launch of a variety of innovations that are still being used by millions of Amazon customers every day. Glissmeyer’s last role before joining FRIDAY was that of Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Management Board of HolidayCheck Group AG in Munich.

Robin Latz is an insurance management specialist who can look back on more than a decade of professional experience in various roles at Allianz and Zurich Insurance Group, where he developed product offers and ensured the long-term profitability of the portfolio.

At the Baloise Group’s Investor Day on 29 October 2020, FRIDAY presented its plans for until the year 2025. In order to be able to generate faster growth and increase profitability, the digital insurer is further expanding its platform and market presence.

In March 2019, FRIDAY had completed a round of financing where it managed to raise more than €1oo million.
