ACI Worldwide and Circle are exploring how USDC settlement can work with existing payment systems, starting in Colombia.
The collaboration will use ACI’s cloud-native payments platform, ACI Connetic, alongside Circle’s USDC infrastructure.
Colombia is the initial focus as ACI previously built the central infrastructure powering Bre-B, the country’s interoperable instant payments system.
The initiative will examine how USDC settlement could complement existing payment infrastructure without replacing traditional payment systems.
ACI Connetic supports account-to-account payments, card transactions and digital assets through a single platform.

“The conversation around stablecoins is moving from possibility to practicality. Financial institutions want to understand how digital asset settlement can fit into the infrastructure and operating models they already trust.
Through ACI Connetic, we’re demonstrating a practical approach to integrating regulated stablecoins into existing payment workflows.”
said Craig Ramsey, Global Head of Account-to-Account Payments at ACI Worldwide.

“Financial institutions across Latin America are increasingly looking at how stablecoins can support the evolution of payments and settlement within the infrastructure they already use.
By working with ACI Worldwide, we’re creating a practical path for institutions to explore how USDC can fit into established payment environments, helping bridge traditional financial infrastructure with the growing digital economy.”
said Kash Razzaghi, Chief Commercial Officer at Circle.
While the initiative uses Circle’s USDC infrastructure, ACI Connetic also supports other payment networks, digital asset providers and future settlement models.
