MUFG has merged its securities and banking businesses in the European Union into a single entity, MUFG Bank Europe.
The merger of MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V. into MUFG Bank (Europe) N.V. took effect on 1 November 2026.
This completes a plan, first announced on 8 January 2026, to set up a universal bank in the EU.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, MUFG Bank Europe has a newly established branch in Paris.
Services cover corporate and investment banking as well as global markets. Beyond Amsterdam and Paris, the bank also has operations in Austria, Belgium, Germany and Spain.
“The EU is a vital part of MUFG’s global business model,”
the group said.
It added that the EU is central to its long-term plans in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
According to the group, the merged business builds on its progress in EMEA in recent years and aims to meet the changing needs of its clients.
