The Canada Fintech Forum 2026 will take place on September 14 and 15, 2026 in Montreal, bringing together more than 1,500 attendees, 70 speakers, and 120 startups for what its organizers describe as Canada’s must-attend fintech event.
As a landmark international gathering, this annual forum aims to showcase emerging global trends in fintech, present new technology solutions for the financial industry, and highlight promising fintech startups. It also seeks to facilitate networking and collaboration between financial institutions, technology providers, startups, and other key players in the financial services sector, while contributing to the visibility of Canada’s fintech talent on the world stage.
This year’s edition will be organized around two thematic pillars. Day 1 will focus on Canada in the global fintech arena through the lens of open and embedded finance, with sessions addressing whether the market effects of open finance will lead to competition or consolidation, the future of Canada’s payments ecosystem from real-time payments to stablecoins, autonomous transactions as the next phase of embedded finance, fintech’s role in ESG and sustainable finance, and the visibility, risk, and oversight challenges of embedded credit everywhere.
Day 2 will shift to enterprise infrastructure and AI, covering AI-driven decision-making in finance and how to build trust, control, and accountability; whether AI-native finance should compete with, collaborate with, or rebuild legacy systems; regtech at scale and the automation of compliance in a highly regulated environment; the AI-versus-AI cyber arms race emerging in finance; and whether the industry is ready for quantum advantage.
